A year ago I wrote an article dealing with wireless regulation and innovation. Towards the end, I briefly mentioned a new creation from xG, a Florida-firm, whom had reportedly developed some uber neat technology called: xMax.
Having witnessed the effects of the dotbomb first hand (family members, relatives, friends, etc.) I am usually apprehensive about buying hype. I even said as much a month later.
And while there have been some recent press releases and interviews regarding its ongoing development, I am still concerned that their R&D will be overshadowed by WiMAX, a technology that has been proven to work and is being deployed (Sprint is spending $3 billion over the next several years rolling it out).
If you know anyone that is currently testing the xMax hardware, let me know — I would personally like to review it.
