I’m slowly catching up to all the stories backed up in the RSS reader. One story of interest: Toshiba will be releasing a Qualcomm-powered smartphone this summer.
The best geeky part, the CPU runs at 1 ghz. That is one fast ARM chip (ARM-derived chips power about 85% of all smartphones right now, including the iPhone and Blackberry). And the next iteration of that ARM chip will be a dual-core version, each running at 1.5ghz.
Anyways, while you can buy some cool smartphones out in Asia, I keep holding out in part because I’d like to see where the OS war heads (I’m hoping either Android or Symbian come out on top).
Or maybe I should be eyeing Tegra-powered Android devices…
