So, there are certain things I miss from American culture. Like MacGyver (and MacGruber). Semi-sober breakfast at IHOP. Women that speak English.
Then there are other things that I uhh, don’t miss too much. Like emo’s. Or trust-fund vandarchists. Or College Station cops.
Again, most of my students think all Americans are smart and beautiful based on the copious amounts of entertainment they consume. So you can imagine how hard it is to describe the not-so-famous subcultures like the dorks at SomethingAwful or 4Chan.
